Now comes with a newly upgraded tear drop 6mm cutter holder!  The old cutter holder is shown in the video. The new system allows for cutting into smaller holes!  The jig with MY 19mm hollowing bars will hollow up to 16" deep max.

    I had my system for six months and I am very pleased with it. The short section in the arm makes very easy to move the cutter with minimal effort. The system is rock solid and is easy to use.

    Excellent choice for articulated arm hollower.

    Well made & easy to use.

    I purchased this item together with the excellent Stratos 230 around three months ago, but have only had a chance to really play with it in the last few weeks. It was very easy to assemble, and simple to adjust to centre height. It is important to ensure that the whole arm is perfectly parallel with the lathe bed; I found an engineers machine level to be very useful in this regard. In use, it is surprisingly quick with 6mm carbide hollowing tool and with a little care produces excellent results. I learnt to deep hollow free-hand, and while I was able to achieve good results, this is so much quicker. Highly recommended if hollow forms are your thing.

    Wish I'd taken the plunge earlier

    After much dithering, a month or so ago I finally took the plunge and bought the Easy Arm and laser bundle.
    I had over the years acquired a goodly number of hollowing tools (Kelton, Woodcut, Crown, various carbides) and toolrest supports like the Woodcut Irons. They all worked well enough, but hogging out any of the more significant pieces was just a chore. And knackering!
    Well, what a step change in ease and accuracy this rig gives you. It’s easy to set up (once you’ve done it a couple of times). It removes 80% of the sheer hard work normally associated with deeper hollow forms. It gives you a much better finished hollow form. And it saves you hours of slog. What’s not to like apart from the ££?
    At the extreme end of its stated range (16″) the frame and cutter does chatter a bit. Hardly surprising. And I do find the round scraper needs some care with setting the down angle to get a chatter-free cut and good finish. A negative rake scraper tip might be an interesting option…..
    Overall a great tool which makes hollowing so much easier and enjoyable. Wish I’d taken the plunge years ago.
