What can I say. I looked on YouTube at some reviews, finding the best one to be Simon himself (also on the page of the item) didn’t take me long to decide on it, came within a few days, tested it, and for someone who has only been turning for 6 months it’s a life and time saver. So easer to operate, and even more so when you watch Simon use it. Already purchased another tool of his so I did come back for more and will again.

I’m extremely new to woodturning, about 6 weeks, and due to the current Covid situation it’s been impossible to get tuition in my area. This has meant relying on YouTube a lot, which is where I saw Simon demonstrating the carbide tools. This is such a great tool to use and has really built up my confidence at the lathe and has allowed me to try new projects that I wouldn’t have otherwise contemplated. I have a number of Hope tools and handles now and have my eye on a couple of other carbide tools for the future.

I am pretty new to woodturning. I bought this 8mm carbide after seeing a demo by Emma Cook (The Tiny Turner) turning a box. Very impressed when using this tool and the excellent Youtube video by Simon Hope gave me the confidence to create my first box and look forward to more projects with this tool. There is nothing fancy about the tool, does what it says and would recommend as good value for money.

This is 400mm long and is complete with softex handle.
Excellent tool for boxes and small end-grain work.
Hooked tools available if needed are my 10MMHK or 12MMHK:
The tips last on average about 2 years as you can turn them around about a third once they get a bit dull. Some customers have said they have prolonged the life even further by using a fine diamond on the bevel to resharpen but eventually, a new tip will be needed.
