This has new become my go-to tool for hollowing. It can take off large quantities of wood or light shavings, making it perfect for thin-sided bowls. My only gripe is that the cutting tip has come loose on a couple of occasions, once flying off altogether and getting lost in a pile of shavings, which meant I had to fork out £11 for a new tip and fixing screw. So as long as you keep checking the tightness of the tip – great!

Having sold a Crown Revolution tool which snatched, chattered and was awful to use, I thought I would give this a go. What a wonderful tool!! So easy to use, no snatching. I’ll be swapping all my tools over to Hope.

The first thing to say about this tool is the build quality is top notch. It’s solid in your hand and easy to use. I have struggled to use various hollowing tools but have just used it on end grain plane and it worked like a dream. The size of the cutter makes controlling the cut straightforward and the finish achievable is very good straight from the tool. As I got deeper I simply added a Hope handle and any chatter i did have disappeared. Very pleased I went for this tool and I’m sure I will get many years of service out of it.ea8

This tool is built well, works well and removes stock so quickly it’s amazing. It’s easy to understand why this tool could be underestimated until you use it, I used it today, the day I got it and it will now be my go to tool for removing stock on the inside of hollow forms. It’s easy to use and also great for shear scraping faces. Great service from Simon Hope Woodturning.

I bought this a few months ago and can honestly say it is now my preferred tool for all hollow forms. It takes a little while to get used to the way it handles but well worth the practice. I have just ordered the hook tip holder to complement the pro tools arsenal. I think it’s been a good investment.

I have owned this Hope 6mm Hope Pro Hollowing tool for over a year and I am just amazed at the speed and longevity of this wee 6mm cutter, just eats up end grain as though there were no tomorrow, thoroughly impressed.

Designed for an all round tool from boxes to deeper vessels. The end sleeve pulls off allowing the 16mm bar to fit into any HOPE quick release handles for deep vessels yet by itself perfect for controlled small work also. The 6mm cutting tip leaves an excellent finish especially on end grain but cuts super quick for stock removal also.
