Stratos FU-230 LV lathe with extended bed and an impressive center distance of 955 mm!

We redeveloped the Stratos together with experienced woodturners and engineers. Our goal was to create a mid-priced lathe that combines new ideas with tried-and-tested features. The result is a lathe ideally suited for beginners, advanced woodturners, professionals, and artists. Now with two integrated sockets!

Further technical data:

  • Frequency converter now with 2 sockets for 800 watts each
  • Smooth start and stop
  • Very quiet and smooth running
  • Digital speed display
  • Tailstock: MK2 with scale on the quill, quill stroke 100 mm
  • 24-step dividing device with measuring scale through a sight glass
  • Rotatable and movable headstock
    • nine-fold spindle lock
    • High accuracy between the driver and the tailstock.
    • Alignment stop for setting precisely aligned centers
  • Movable control box with
    • Magnetic holder
    • On-off switch
    • Forward-reverse running
    • electronic speed control via potentiometer

When developing the Stratos, we focused on the following points:

  • Particularly smooth running when turning bowls, vases, long wood and off-centre turning
  • Precisely aligned tips for accuracy in miniature and long wood turning and for good drilling results
  • Wide speed range on both pulleys: Pulley No. 1 achieves 80–1350 rpm, while pulley No. 2 achieves 180–3700 rpm. This allows miniatures, boxes, chased and fly-turned work, bowls, vases, and much more to be produced on pulley No. 2 without the need to change the belt.
  • Made entirely of grey cast iron to reduce vibration
  • Sufficient motor power for bowl turning
  • Great ease of use: The headstock can be rotated and moved, the bench can be quickly converted for external turning, and external turning is possible at three points.
  • The control box can be attached exactly where it is needed, thanks to a magnetic holder
  • Center height: 230 mm for work up to 450 mm in diameter. Turning diameter with external turning device: more than 800 mm

    What a fantastic piece of machinery, engineered to the highest quality. Plenty of power for turning extra large bowls, but versatile enough for turning delicate little finials.
